Trading agents
A trading agent is a delegated key that signs your orders, so you don’t confirm every action in your wallet.
An agent can trade, never withdraw. It can place and cancel orders and adjust leverage. It cannot move funds out of your account: withdrawals stay with your wallet alone.
Setting one up
The first time you place an order, Liquary prompts you to approve an agent. You sign once with your wallet; this also approves the Liquary builder fee up to a capped maximum (see Fees). After that, trading is pop-up-free.
Trading without an agent (no-agent mode)
Turn on no-agent mode in Settings and your wallet signs each trading action directly (place order, cancel, adjust leverage). No delegated key is created or stored, on any device. The trade-off is a wallet confirmation per action.
It covers your Hyperliquid trading (perps, spot and prediction markets) and can be switched on or off at any time. Turning it on first revokes your active agents (one signature each) and removes their keys from this browser; turning it off walks you back through the one-time agent setup.
What it costs you:
- Chase orders are unavailable. Picking chase in no-agent mode falls back to a plain limit.
- The dead-man switch needs an agent: it cancels your orders while you are away, with nobody there to sign.
If you signed up with an email, the embedded wallet signs without a pop-up either way, so the choice does not change your experience. Some wallets do not support no-agent mode; the setting says so.
Multi-sig accounts
Liquary supports trading from a Hyperliquid multi-sig account (one that requires several signers, say 2-of-3), with two requirements:
- You’re in no-agent mode: an agent key can’t stand in for the account’s signers.
- Your wallet supports multi-sig authorization for Hyperliquid. A plain single-signature wallet can’t act on a multi-sig account.
Liquary detects a multi-sig account automatically and hands each action to your wallet, which gathers the required signatures. Everything else works the same. Multi-sig is set up on your Hyperliquid account, not in Liquary; if your wallet doesn’t support it, Liquary tells you.
Managing agents
In Settings → Trading agents, every agent registered to your account is labeled by the device and browser that created it (e.g. “Chrome · Windows”), with its expiry countdown. For each one:
- Clear local: remove the agent key from this browser only. Other devices keep working.
- Revoke: have Hyperliquid refuse that agent everywhere, on all devices.
Liquary also flags orphaned keys (a key still in your browser that Hyperliquid no longer recognises) so you can clean them up.
Key security
On the card of the agent this browser holds, Key security sets how the key is kept:
- Risk (the default): stored unencrypted in this browser, with no unlock prompt; it survives restarts.
- Normal: encrypted, with one unlock signature per browser session.
- Safe: encrypted and kept in memory only, so every refresh or new tab asks for the unlock signature again.
Whatever the mode, the key can trade and never withdraw.
Agents and account modes
An agent is independent of your account mode: you can change modes without re-approving it.
